Luther College

• Earned four letters in track and field as a sprinter and hurdler
• Set Luther record in the 100-yard dash (9.9 seconds)
• Coached Duluth Denfield High School track team to state runner-up finish (1948), a state championship in (1949), and a fourth-place finish in (1950) 
• Inducted into the Minnesota Track Coaches Hall of Fame - 1976
