• He was the first Norseman to score over 1,000 points in basketball - 1,010 total
• Played on 1942 team that was invited to NAIA National tournament
• Won first place honors in several events at Iowa Conference Track Meets
• Served as an aerial navigator in the U.S.Marine Corp,1942-1946, attained the rank of Master Sergeant and received a Presidential Unit Citation
