Hall of Fame
• Recognized as one of Luther’s greatest four-sport athletes
• In three years of competition he earned 12 letters, three each in football, basketball, baseball and track
• Scored 6 touchdowns and 5 extra points against Western Union for a total of 41 points, a Luther and Iowa Conference single game record
• Set Luther record for longest run of 102 yards for a touchdown against St. Mary’s (MN)
• Punted 18 times for 828 yards for a 46-yard average in a 0-0 game with Iowa Teachers College - now University of Northern Iowa
• Twice voted team MVP
• Two-time all-conference quarterback
• All-state quarterback as a senior
• Batted .420 in baseball during senior year
• In track he was part of the first place half mile relay team for Iowa Colleges at the Drake Relays
• Signed with the Minneapolis Millers and the American Association but arm trouble cut his professional career short
• Following baseball career he spent 39 years in education, 33 as an administrator at Forest City, Iowa and Fertile, Iowa
