• Four-year letter winner in football
• Came to Luther after earning all-state honors in football at Riverside High School, Chicago, Ill.
• Member of Iowa Conference championship football teams - 1935, 1938
• Luther’s first three-time all-conference performer
• Little All-America at quarterback - 1938
• The Des Moines Register named him first team all-state three times
• Had an outstanding record as teacher, football coach and director of health, physical education and athletics, winning football championships at Glenwood, Minn. and Augustana College, Rock Island, Ill.
• Named Iowa Prep Football Coach of the Year in 1955 for his unbeaten and untied Davenport High School team
• Inducted into Iowa’s Football Coaches Hall of Fame
• Received the Lyle T. Quinn Award, the highest award bestowed by the Iowa High School Athletic Association and the National Federation of High Schools Award as one of the six outstanding athletic directors in the United States
• In 1973 named President of Palmer Junior College, Davenport, Iowa.
