Hall of Fame
• Four-year letter winner in football and three-year letter winner in baseball
• All-conference quarterback who led Luther to IIAC championship - 1941
• As pitcher he threw against Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and California
• Refused three major league baseball offers while in school
• Left school his senior year to serve in U.S. Naval Academy as Chief Petty Officer
• Returned and completed his degree in 1951
• Social studies teacher at Blooming Prairie High School and athletic director; has coached football, basketball, and baseball
• Member of twenty-five-year club of Minnesota Coaches Association, twice president of Minnesota District II Coaches Association
