Four-year letter winner in basketball. Played on the Iowa Conference championship team - 1943. Played on NAIA National Tournament teams - 1942, 1943. Served as Luther College student body president his senior. Received a M.S. degree in physics from University of Iowa, 1947 and a Ph.D. degree in physics from Iowa State University in 1953.
