DECORAH, Iowa - Luther College Athletics is excited to introduce two new programs designed to bring area youth to campus for fun, active and engaging experiences with Norse student-athletes and staff.

Norse Nights Out and Viking Vacation Days will provide children in grades K–8 with opportunities to be active, try new activities, spend time on the Luther campus and connect with Norse Athletics throughout the school year.

Connecting Norse Athletics and Our Community
Both programs are part of Luther Athletics' continued effort to connect our student-athletes with Decorah and the surrounding communities while creating fun and meaningful opportunities for area youth.

"We want young people in our community to feel connected to Luther and to our student-athletes beyond simply coming to watch them compete," said Luther Director of Athletics Megan Wilson. "These programs give kids an opportunity to be active, have fun and get to know our student-athletes, while also giving our student-athletes another way to engage with and give back to the community. We're excited to welcome families to campus throughout the year."

Norse Nights Out
Parents can enjoy a Friday evening out while their kids enjoy a night at Luther.

On eight select Friday nights throughout the school year, children in grades K–8 will spend the evening with Luther student-athletes and staff participating in a variety of supervised activities. Depending on the evening, activities may include gym games, crafts, movies, swimming and other activities connected to each night's theme.

Drop-off is from 5:30–6:00 p.m. and pick-up is from 9:00–9:30 p.m. Cost is $20 per child.

Advance registration is encouraged, although families may also register at the door. A parent or guardian must either accompany the child at drop-off or complete the required waiver in advance.

Viking Vacation Days
When school is out, kids can spend the day with the Norse.

Viking Vacation Days offer children in grades K–8 a full day of sports, movement and fun on the Luther College campus during five scheduled school breaks.
Throughout the day, participants will take part in three sport sessions, selecting an activity for each session based on their interests. Sport options will include:

• Session 1: Softball/baseball or basketball
• Session 2: Volleyball, wrestling or track & field/strength
• Session 3: Racquet sports (tennis, pickleball and badminton), football, cheer or soccer

Participants can choose different activities each time they attend, giving kids an opportunity to experience a variety of sports alongside Luther coaches and student-athletes throughout the year.

After the sport sessions, the afternoon will include additional activities such as leadership games, arts and crafts, movies and open gym.

Drop-off is from 7:30–8:15 a.m. and pick-up is from 4:45–5:30 p.m. Lunch is included.

Viking Vacation Days Pricing:

• $65 per child, per day, including lunch
• $55 per day for siblings
• $295 for all five days (save $30)
• $260 for a sibling attending all five days

Viking Vacation Days are scheduled for:
Oct. 5, Nov. 30, Jan. 18, March 1 and April 5.
