• Set steeplechase school record (9:07.90)
• All-conference in the 10,000 - 1983, 1984, 1985
• Professional triathlete, was the USA West Region long-course triathlon (1/2 Ironman) champion in 1997 and an All-American from 1996-98
• Coached five Colorado high school state championship track and field teams
• Earned conference coach of the year recognition 18 times
• Named Colorado High School Athletics Association Coach of the Year four times
• Has served as prep coach for three Olympic athletes
