Hall of Fame
• Member of football, basketball and track teams
• Served as captain for both basketball and track teams
• In the final track meet of his freshman year he won the high hurdles, low hurdles, 100-yard dash, 200-yard dash and was a member of the winning half-mile relay team for a point total of 21 1/4 points
• As a sophomore and junior, he frequently won four events (high and low hurdles, 100-yard dash, and broad jump) and anchored the half-mile relay
• Individual high scorer at the Iowa Conference meet as a senior
• Employed by the Great Northern railway system until his death in 1962
