Member of football, basketball and track teams. Served as captain for both basketball and track teams. In the final track meet of his freshman year he won the high hurdles, low hurdles, 100-yard dash, 200-yard dash and was a member of the winning half-mile relay team for a point total of 21 1/4 points. As a sophomore and junior, he frequently won four events (high and low hurdles, 100-yard dash, and broad jump) and anchored the half-mile relay. Individual high scorer at the Iowa Conference meet as a senior. Employed by the Great Northern railway system until his death in 1962.
