Came to Luther from Wartburg College, then a junior college. PM.E. from the University of Iowa, 1953. Three year letter winner in basketball, baseball and track. Helped lead Luther to first conference basketball title in 1932. All-conference guard his senior year. Held the Luther javelin record for 20 years. Served in the U.S. Navy, 1944-46 with the rank of petty officer. For 40 years served as a public school teacher and coach in Iowa and Texas. Led the Stratford boy’s team in 1938, the girl’s team in 1943 and Independence (IA) boy’s team in 1954 to state tournaments.
