The American Rivers Conference has announced that Luther College junior Kendra Cooper (Lansing, Iowa/Kee High) has been named the league's Pitcher of the Week for the week ending Sunday, May 2, 2021. This is the fourth time she has been so honored during her career.
This past week, Cooper picked up two wins during the three-game road series against Simpson. In game one of the series, she pitched nine innings and allowed four runs on eight hits and struck out nine as Luther posted a 7-4 victory. In the rubber match, she allowed one unearned run on four hits and struck out six as Luther won 7-1.
The two wins increased her season record to 12-5. She has pitched 113 innings, allowed 38 earned runs for an ERA of 2.35. She has struck out 107, walked 33 and opponents are batting .229 against her.
Luther improved to 22-13, 11-10 in the A-R-C.
