The American Rivers Conference has announced that Luther College senior goalkeeper Carson Davenport (Rockford, Ill./Boylan Catholic) has been named the league's men's soccer defensive player of the week for the week ending Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021. This is the third time he has been so honored.
Davenport helped lead Luther to wins over UW-Whitewater (4-0), Coe College (4-0) and Nebraska Wesleyan University (7-0) this past week. He tallied seven saves on the week, with five coming during the win over UW-Whitewater. He went the distance in front of the nets against Whitewater, played 83 minutes against Coe and 77 minutes against Nebraska Wesleyan and lowered his goals-against-average to 1.17
Luther improved to 9-4 overall, 4-0 in the A-R-C.
