The American Rivers Conference has announced that Luther College senior Cole Schneider (Coralville, Iowa/Iowa City West) has been named the league's men's tennis Performer of the Week for the week ending Sunday, April 25, 2021. This is the fifth time he has been so honored during his career.
This past week, Schneider helped lead Luther to victories over Wartburg College (9-0) and previously unbeaten Coe College (6-3). He finished the week 2-0 in both doubles and singles play.
In doubles, playing with Nyathi Motlojoa at No. 1, the duo defeated Gregor Kincaid and Jackson Eells of Wartburg (8-2) and Rami Hemaidan and Bo Wilson of Coe (8-4). The duo is now 10-2 for the season and are currently ranked No. 4 in the Central Region.
In singles, Schneider defeated Jackson Eells at No. 2 (6-2, 6-2) of Wartburg and Jon Lansing of Coe at No. 2 (6-3, 6-1). He has seen the majority of his time this season at No. 2 and has a record of 12-4.
The two wins puts Luther atop the A-R-C standings with a record of 6-0, 9-4 overall.
