WATERLOO, Iowa – Luther College baseball pitcher Sam Amundson (St. Paul, Minn./Two Rivers) singed with the Waterloo Bucks of the Northwoods League (a collegiate wooden bat league) on July 24 and his contract goes through the end of the season. He made his first appearance for the Bucks on Sunday, July 26 vs the La Crosse Loggers.

"I'm excited to for the opportunity to compete with some of the nations best within the Northwoods League," Amundson said. "It's a great chance to continue developing my skills, learn from coaches and teammates and prepare for the next Luther College baseball season."
 
During the 2026 season the Norse, Amundson had a 3.53 ERA (earned run average) with a 2-3 record with one save in 35.2 innings pitched. He allowed 36 hits with 23 runs (14 earned), 19 walks and 51 strikeouts in 16 appearances on the mound.
