Nebraska Wesleyan University won two of three games in this weekend series. The Priaire Wolves defeated Luther 8-2 this afternoon, scoring once in the first, four times in the third and added three runs in the fifth. Luther scored both of its runs in the fourth.
Samantha Thompson started in the circle for the Norse and pitched 3 1/3 innings aftrer reentering in the sixth. She allowed four runs on five hits and struck out one.
Abbey Gapinski took over in the third and threw 1 2/3 innings, allowed one run on two hits and struck out one.
Kendra Cooper threw the fifth frame and allowed three runs on two hits and walked one.
Sydney Schultz had two of Luther's four hits and finished the afternoon 2-for-3 at the plate.
The loss levels Luther's A-R-C record to 8-8, 19-11 overall NWU improved to 8-7 in league play, 10-13 overall.
The Norse travel to Coe College on Wednesday, April 21 to play the third and final game of this three-game series. Start time is slated for 2:00 p.m. The first two games were played on Sunday, March 21.
