Biography
2023: Cooper was a super senior in every way for Luther, as she took home A-R-C Pitcher of the Year honors in her fifth and final season with the Norse. Her list of accomplishments was length and impressive, as Cooper earned First Team All-Conference, First Team All-Region, NCAA Regional All-Tournament team and NFCA Third Team All-America honors in addition to being a six-time A-R-C Athlete of the Week and named to the Tucci/NFCA Division III Pitcher of the Year Watchlist. The NFCA Division III Pitcher of the Week on May 9, Cooper became just the ninth three-time NFCA All-Region awardee in program history in 2023, closing the season with a 22-6 record in the circle and a 1.73 ERA. Her 10-1 record in conference play was the best in the A-R-C, and Cooper led the Luther pitching staff in nearly every pitching statistic, including ERA, wins, complete games, shutouts, strikeouts and opponent batting average. Entering the NCAA Regional, Cooper ranked second in the nation in shutouts (10), eighth in total victories (21),12th in total strikeouts (191) and 15th in games started (26).Â
2022: Cooper only added to her trophy case as a true senior, earning NFCA All-Region and A-R-C All-Conference honors. As a junior, Cooper earned Second Team All-Region and First Team All-Conference honors after serving as Luther's ace, appearing in 24 games with 18 starts in the circle. She posted a win-loss record of 9-8 with a 2.48 ERA. She was even better against conference opponents. Cooper posted the lowest ERA in the A-R-C during the regular season at 2.52 and ranked second in the conference in strikeouts with 57. At the conclusion of the season, Cooper ranked fifth in shutouts (14), sixth all-time in wins (39) and seventh in appearances (78).
2021: Cooper continued to wrack up awards as a junior, as she earned Second Team All-Conference, NFCA Second Team All_Region and NFCA/Easton Scholar Athlete honors. She made 30 appearances in the circle, including 24 starts, en route to a win-loss record of 20-5. Cooper posted the lowest ERA on the team in 2021, leading the staff with a 1.98 mark after surrendering just 60 runs, 37 earned, in 166.0 innings pitched. Additionally, Cooper tallied 142 strikeouts as a junior and held opponents to a sub .250 batting average.Â
2020: In the COVID shortened season, Cooper appeared in six games and posted a flawless record of 6-0. She pitched two complete games and surrendered just four earned runs in 31.0 innings of work.
2019: As a first year, Cooper was named the team's Newcomer of the Year after appearing in 18 games in the circle for the Norse. In 59.2 innings pitched, Cooper surrendered just 70 hits, 31 runs and 26 earned runs in 59.2 innings of work and ranked second on the team with 36 strikeouts.Â
High School: Cooper was a four sport athlete while at Kee High, earning honors in all four sports. She was a 5x First Team All-Conference honoree and earned First Team All-District and All-State honors. As a sophomore and junior, Cooper led Kee to the 1A State Championship title and was a member of the runner up team in 2014. She was a multi-year All-Conference honoree in basketball and volleyball and was a state champion in discus in track. Off the court, Cooper wa sa member of the National Honor Society and was class valedictorian.
Personal: Cooper is the daughter of Ron and Angie Cooper.
