Luther pounded out 12 hits and rolled to a 13-0 victory over UW-Stout this afternoon in the first game of this non-conference double header. When Luther starter
Kendra Cooper threw her first pitch, it marked the first time in 700 days that the Norse were able to play a home game due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Luther's last home game was April 24, 2019.
Cooper went on to retire the first nine batters she faced before giving up one hit in four innings of work. She also struck out three en route to her seventh win against no losses.
Sam Thompson threw the final inning and struck out one.
Luther started the bottom of the first scoring seven runs on four hits. The Blue Devils also committed three errors in the frame. The Norse added two more runs in the second, third and fourth innings.
Katie Brennan and Cooper were both credited with two RBI. Brennan was 2-for-2 from her lead-off slot in the batting order and Cooper was 1-for-3.
Sydney Schultz went three-for-three with an RBI. Also driving in a run was
