CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – On Tuesday, the American Rivers Conference announced the 2026 all-conference teams. The Luther College Baseball team had seven players recognized to the all-conference teams including six first team selections of
Josh Stratton,
CJ Boudreaux,
Gavin Scurr,
Zach Gwost,
Noah Kindem,
Nolan Klocke.
Charles Running was named the Pitcher of the Year. Second-team honors went to
Brody Von Berge and honorable mention honors went to
Ike Swanson and
Tyrus Werner.
Running is the first Norse league MVP since Joey Cardamon in 2018 (pitcher of the year). In conference play he had a 1.35 earned run average (ERA) which led the league. He was 5-0 in six appearances and threw 40 innings. Running only gave up 28 hits, nine runs (six earned), 16 walks and struck out 36. He limited opponents to a .193 batting average.
Scurr becomes the sixth player in program history to be a three-time all-conference selection. It also is his first time as a first-team all-conference honoree. After missing part of the season due to injury he returned to the field. He had a .583 batting average with 19 hits which included three doubles and four home runs, 14 rbi and 10 runs.
Stratton earns his first all-conference honor of his career. In six starts, he had a 2.37 ERA in 38 innings pitch. He allowed 31 hits, 17 runs (10 earned), nine walks and recorded 30 strikeouts.
Boudreaux made 11 appearances on the mound with a 1.10 ERA and had six saves. In 16.1 innings pitched only allowed seven hits, four runs (two earned), seven walks and struck down 29 batters. This season he set the single season school record for saves (8) and now is the all-time career leader (10) for saves at Luther. This is his second all-conference honor of his career.
Gwost started in every conference game and record a .438 batting average which ranked second in the league. In 96 at-bats he had 42 hits with eight doubles, seven home runs and two triples, 31 rbi and 25 runs. He also set a new single season school record with 69 hits. Gwost is now a two-time all-conference honoree.
Kindem earns his second all-conference honor and second first-team all-conference honors. Playing as the designated hitter he had a .313 batting average with 30 hits which included six doubles and eight home runs, 33 rbi and 30 runs. He set the new single season home run record with 13.
Klocke receives his second all-conference honor and first since 2023. He was 3-0 in four starts pitching 26.1 innings with one complete game and one shutout. He gave up 20 hits, nine runs (six earned), eight walks and tallied 33 strikeouts.
Von Berge is a first-time all-conference honoree earning second team honors. He started six games on the mound with a 3.86 ERA and was 3-2 overall. Von Berge pitched 35 innings allowing 36 hits, 18 runs, 15 walks and recorded 44 strikeouts. He led the team in strikeouts.
