The No. 4 seed Wartburg College tallied 10 runs on 15 hits and defeated the No. 1 seed Luther 10-4 this afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium. This was the opening game for the Norse of the A-R-C six-team tournament. The loss snapped the Norse eight-game win streak. Luther is now 31-10, while Wartburg improved to 24-14.
The Norse had two runs in both the fourth and eight innings.
Ty Grewal drove in two runs and
Ryan Truman was credited with one rbi.
Gavin Scurr and Truman both had two hits.
Josh Stratton (8-1) was credited with his first loss of the season. Stratton threw 5 2/3 innings, allowed seven runs (six earned) on nine hits. He did not issue a walk and struck out one.Â
