Mia Prater Finishes 15th In 50 Freestyle – Earns Honorable Mention All-American Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Luther College women's swimming and diving junior Mia Prater, finished tied for 15th in the 50 freestyle earning her honorable mention All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championship. This year's championship is being held at the IU Natatorium on the campus of IU Indianapolis. For Prater, it marks her second honorable mention all-American honors of her career in the 50 freestyle. 
 
Prater finished first in her heat with a time of 23.20 for her best time in the event this season. She finished 14th overall in prelims advancing to finals. There were 69 competitors in eight heats during prelims.
 
In finals she raced in the consolation final where she finished tied in a tie for 15th place with Olivia Morse of Denison with a time of 23.42.
 
Throughout the championship, the top-8 fastest times in each event advance to the championship finals and earn All-American honors. The next eight fastest times qualify for the consolation finals and are considered honorable mention All-American.
