Luther returned to the pool after a 28-day layoff and hosted the Sprint Invite this afternoon. St. Ambrose University won the team title with 888 points. Luther was second (691), Iowa Lakes Swimming & Diving was third (61) and Iowa Central Community College was fourth (31).
Noelle Galluci was the only women's diver in the field and posted a point total of (355.25) on the one-meter board and (350.85) on the three-meter board.
Cassie Rounds led the Norse with two first place finishes, winning both the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly.
Annemarie Johnson won the 1000 freestyle and
Ren Talerico won the 100 butterfly. The 200 freestyle relay foursome of Rounds,
Marissa Rutkowski, Johnson and Talerico finished the afternoon with a firsts place finish.
Luther will return to action Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16-17 when it will compete at the Grinnell Invitational.Â
