The Luther men's golf team traveled to Maple Plaine, Minn. to begin its fall schedule at the Minnesota Golf Classic hosted by Bethel University. The 54-hole tournament was played at Pioneer Creek Golf Course, a par 72 that measured 6953 yards. There were 15 complete teams, all Division III, in the field and a 110 players that included 28 individuals from Division I schools.
Luther shot rounds of 306-313-314 for a 933 and placed 13th. Gustavus Adolphus College won the team title with an 870, followed by Bethel with an 876 and Carleton College was third at 878.
The tournament medalist was Jeffrey Zatorksi of Rutgers Unversity who carded a nine under par (207). He finished one stroke ahead of August Petersson of South Carolina who shot (208). The Division III medalist was Carson Hannestad of Bethel who shot a five under par (211).

The Norse will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 9 when they will play a triangular against Wartburg and Coe at Prairie Links Golf Course, Waverly, Iowa.
