The Luther College men's golf team kick-off its spring schedule at the Upper Iowa University Invitational. The two-day tournament was scheduled to be a 36-hole tournament, but due to an extreme amount of rain and very chilly conditions, the tournament was reduced to an 18-hole finale. The 12 teams played at Sunnyside Country Club, Waterloo, Iowa. The course was a par 72 that measured 6756 yards.
Luther shot 337 and placed 11th from the field of 12 teams. Quincy University (IL) won the team title with a 312. Augustana (SD) was second at 314, and University of Mary (ND) B team was third with a 318.
Derek Anderson from Augustana (SD) and Quinn Breidenbach from U of Mary (ND) tied for medalist honors carding a 74.Â
Luther's five and where they finished from the field of 68 golfers included, Alex Wold (T30 - 82),
Owen King (T40 - 83),
Garett Sperber (T40 - 83),
Max Brook (T58 - 89), and
Pieter Rippentrop (T65 - 92). Ben Christenson played as an individual (T65 - 92).Â

The Norse will return to action on Monday, April 6, when they will compete at the Glen Oaks Collegiate hosted by Southwestern Community College. The one-day tournament will be played at Glen Oaks Country Club, West Des Moines, Iowa.
