CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Five Luther baseball players were named to the 2025 American Rivers Conference Baseball All-Conference teams.
Mark Prince and Josh Matanich were first team selections while
CJ Boudreaux,
Zach Gwost and
Gavin Scurr were named to the second team.
Matanich is a two-time all-conference honoree. He recorded a .369 batting average with 38 hits, 28 rbi and 21 runs. On the defensive side he had 179 putouts, seven assists and no errors. Matanich became the all-time leader in career hits with 250 and also ranks in the top-10 in career games played (192), at-bats (699), runs batted in (172), doubles (50), home runs (28), slugging percentage (.549), runs scored (136), walks (79), defensive putouts (1197), and fielding percentage (.991).
Prince hit .301 with 37 rbi, 31 hits and 20 runs. He set the school single season home run record in the final game of the regular season against Nebraska Wesleyan. During the season he hit 11 home runs. On the defensive side he recorded 52 putouts.
Scurr earns all-conference honors for the second straight season. He had 29 hits in 101 at-bats with 21 rbi and 24 runs. Scurr hit five home runs and five doubles. As the catcher he had 186 putouts during the conference season along with 14 assists and one error.
Boudreaux earns his first all-conference honors of his career. He made ten appearances in on the mound with a 2.65 era. Boudreaux had three saves on the season allowing ten hits, five runs and 25 strikeouts. He limited opponents to a .175 batting average.
Gwost is also a first-time all-conference honoree. He ranked tenth in the conference with a .348 batting average. He recorded 23 hits in 66 at-bats with 18 rbi and 12 runs.
