Luther traveled to Northfield, Minn., and Carleton College for a non-conference double header this afternoon. Luther swept the twin bill posting scores of 5-2 and 10-5. With the wins, Luther is now 16-20 and has won five in a row.
Game One Recap: This was a scheduled seven inning game. The Norse scored five runs on seven hits, scoring twice in both the fourth and fifth innings and adding an insurance run in the sixth.
Garren Heinert was 2-for-3 and drove in one run. Josh Matanich,
Will Heithoff and
Noah Dutler were also credited with an RBI.
Brody Von Berge (2-4) was credited with the win in relief. Von Berge threw the final four innings, did not allow a hit and struck out four.
Nolan Klocke started the game and threw the first three innings and allowed two runs on one hit, walked two and struck out seven.Â

Game Two Recap: Luther produced 10 runs on 10 hits and scored in every inning except the fourth.
Noah Pinette drove in two runs, while
Ike Swanson, Matanich,
Mark Prince and
Anthony Esposito were all credited with one RBI. Swanson (3-for-6), Prince (2-for-4) and
Ryan Truman (2-for-4) all had multiple hit games.
Charles Running (3-2) was credited with the win. Running took over in the fourth and pitched four innings. He allowed three runs on two hits, walked three and struck out seven.

Luther will wrap up its non-conference schedule at Augustana College (IL) on Tuesday, April 29. This will be a nine-inning game and replaces the double header that was canceled due to weather between these two teams on Feb. 22. Start time Tuesday is 6 p.m.
