DECORAH, Iowa – The Luther men's basketball team lost in overtime to Concordia College 67-62. The Norse had a three-point lead with three seconds remaining in regulation (58-55) but a last second shot by the Cobbers went in forcing overtime. Concordia outscored Luther 9-4 in overtime. The game featured eight lead changes and 10 ties.
The Cobbers scored 30 points in the paint and won the battle of the boards 48-39. Peyton Belka led the team with 17 points. Concordia shot 38.5 percent for the game while Luther shot 34.4.
Andre Palavra had 14 points followed by a double-double from
Henry Kreckman with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Jeremy Andera recorded nine points.
This was the second overtime game for Luther this season. The Norse drop to 5-5 overall while Concordia improves to 6-2.
Luther wraps up the first half of the season on Saturday, Dec. 20 at Cornell College with tipoff at 4 p.m. in Mount Vernon, Iowa.
