Came to Luther from Hendrickson High School where he was a four-time letter winner in basketball and three-time winner in football…in basketball he was named first-team all-district and Leander tournament MVP…member of  teams that twice were district runner-ups and one-time district champions…member of the National Honor Society…four-time academic all-state…son of Christine and Nelson Smith.
