ST. PAUL, Minn. - The Hamline University Pipers handed the Luther men's basketball team their first loss of the season with a final score of 60-52. The Norse started the game on an 8-0 run but the Pipers held a narrow 31-28 lead at halftime. The second half remained close at the start with the lead changing twice. Then with 8:31 left in the contest Hamline took over the lead for good (42-41) closing on a 18-11 run to win the game.
Javier Rowell lead the team with 14 points followed by
Charlie Wunderlich with 13. Wunderlich led the team in rebounds with six.
Luther out rebounded Hamline 31-27.
The Pipers have now won the last three meetings against the Norse. Hamline improves to 4-1 overall while Luther falls to 4-1.
Luther hosts St. Oalf on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 7:30 p.m. in Decorah, Iowa.
