DECORAH, Iowa - The Luther men's basketball team improved to 2-0 after defeating Crown College (1-1) 53-48.
Jeremy Andera lead the team with a career high 24 points. The Norse pick up their first win over the Polars since Nov. 26, 2019 (91-83).
Luther outscored Crown 21-15 in the first half. In the second half there were five lead changes. With 8:58 left on the clock Luther held an eight point advantage off of the three point play from
Owen Bockenstedt (44-36). The Polars whittled down the lead on a 10-4 run with 1:16 remaining tying the score at 48. Andera, Bockenstedt and
Charlie Wunderlich combined for the final five points to hold off Crown.
Yigit Yarisci also set a career high with 13 points. Bockenstedt led the team with 10 rebounds.
Luther will head on the road for their next game at Bethany Lutheran College. Tipoff is at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15 in Mankato, Minn.
