No. 25 Luther was defeated by No. 16 UW-Whitewater 20-16 in the final match of day one of the NWCA/USMC Division III National Duals. With the loss the Norse have moved into the the DIII 13-16 bracket and will have two more matches on Saturday.
In this match, wins by
Connor Kidd (133) and
Caden Schrage (141) leveled the score to 6-6. In the final seven bouts, UWW outscored Luther 14-10 to secure the victory.

Clayton McDonough (157) defeated Luke Swan 5-0.
Ben Strehlow (197) posted a 13-10 sudden victory over Evan Danowski, while No. 4
Walter West finished the match with a 12-0 major decision over Isaak Smith.

Tomorrow morning, Luther will face Albion College (MI) at 11:00 a.m. If the Norse win they will wrestled for 13th place and will face the winner between No. 23 University of Olivet (MI) and No. 21 Wabash College (IN) that also takes place at 11:00 a.m. The two losers will wrestle for 16th place. Both the 13th place match and 16th place match will begin at 1:00 p.m.
