CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Luther had two All-Americans and placed 15th at the 2026 NCAA III National Wrestling Championships hosted by the American Rivers Conference at Alliant Energy Powerhouse, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. 

Bryce McDonough, the No. 6 seed at 174, earned his first All-America honor. McDonough advanced to the title bout against the No. 1 seed Hunter Mays from the College of New Jersey (TCNJ) who entered the championship tilt undefeated. Mays won the match by a final of (8-6) and finished the year 29-0.

McDonough's journey to the title bout included wins over the No. 3 seed from Loras College Dustin Bohren (8-4), and the No. 2 seed Noah Leisgang of UW-La Crosse by major decision (8-0) in the semifinals. McDonough was the first Norse wrestler to advance to the title bout since 2017, and became the 12th wrestler in Luther history to finish as a national runner-up. He finishes the year with a mark of 30-7.

Clayton McDonough, who entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed at 165, earned his third All-American honor. He advanced to the semifinals and was eliminated from the championship bracket by No. 5 seed Andrew Supers of Baldwins Wallace (6-0). He went on the consolation bracket and placed sixth. McDonough placed 4th in 2024 and 8th in 2025 at 157. With this honor, he became the seventh wrestler in Luther history to stand on the podium three times. 

During the first day of action, Connor Kidd (133), a 2025 All-American, was eliminated from the tournament. In the opening round, he won by fall (2:49) over Jacob Venezia of NYU. In the quarterfinals he was defeated by the No. 5 seed Jude Robson of Roanoke 8-2. In his first match on the consolation side of the bracket, he was defeated by Wyatt Unser of UW-Eau Claire by fall (2:52).
