The University of Minnesota hosted the 38th Annual Roy Griak Invitational today at the Les Bolstad Golf Course, Falcon Heights, Minn., The Norse competed in the Maroon 8K race comprised of 25 teams from both the NCAA II and NCAA III.
North West Missouri State won the team title with 36 points. Michigan Tech was second (91), followed by Augstana (S.D.) with 121. Luther finished 18th with 493 points.
Ryan Hartman from Augustana (S.D.) won the individual title with a time of 25:16.1.
Luther's top-five, where they placed from the field of 358 competitors, and the points they earned, included
Michel Heinrich (75th (62pts) - 27:55.7),
Jack Bode (128th (98 pts) - 28:38.3),
Jacob Bruns (143rd (105 pts) - 28:46.3,
Christian Montover (154th (110 pts) - 28:52.7), and
Benjamin Gillikin (170th (118 pts) - 29:30.8).
Kurt Lebakken (197th - 29:30.8) and
Garett Seppanen (207th - 29:40.8) ran sixth and seventh for the Norse.

Luther will return to action on Friday, Oct. 4, when it will compete at the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational. The race will be held at Whitetaile Golf Course, Colfax, Wis. Start time is scheduled for 5:15 p.m.
