Box Score Weather was the main issue today in Lincoln, Neb. The Norse and Prairie Wolves were scheduled to play a double header but were able to complete one game and play four innings of the nightcap before lightning and rain shut things down for the rest of the day. If the two teams are able to play Sunday, they will finish the suspended game and then wrap up the series with game three. Start time will be determined sometime Sunday morning.
In game one, Luther defeated NWU 9-4. The Norse scored four in the third, three in the fifth and two in the ninth. NWU scored two in the bottom of the first and one in both the sixth and seventh frames.
Harrison Blum picked up the win. Blum went five complete, allowed two earned runs on four hits, walked two and struck out two.
Blake Jondle took over for
Noah Dutler in the middle of the seventh and shutdown got the Norse out of a jam in the seventh and finished the game en route to the save.
Noah Kindem led the Norse attack. Kindem hit a two-run home run during the three-run fifth.
Noah Pinette also drove in two runs, while
Joshua Matanich, Dutler, and
Will Heithoff all drove in one.
The win gives Luther an overall record of 22-12, 11-7 in the A-R-C. The Norse are alone in third place.
We will post a box score as soon as possible.
