CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The Luther women's cross country team finished fourth with at the American Rivers Conference Championship at the Seminole Valley Cross Country Course in the 6k event.
Alyssa Blankenship finished seventh overall with a time of 22:28.0 and
Sarah Schmidt was 18th with a time of 23:26.9. Both earned all-conference honors for the first time in their career.
Wartburg won the league title with 41 points. Central took second with 56 followed by Loras with 80. Luther tallied 118 points to finish fourth.
In the scoring five was Blankenship in 7th (7pts - 22:28.0), Schmidt (18th - 16 pts - 23:26.9),
Lucy Corbin (33rd - 26 pts - 24:18.3),
Sarah Grams (44th - 32 pts - 24:41.3) and
Mari Paulsen (50th - 37 pts - 24:48.4).
Rounding out the top-seven was
Makaylee Jensen (55th - 24:58.0) and
Mia Lung (59th - 25:09.7).
Blankenship, Schmidt, Corbin, Paulsen, Jensen, and Lung all set new personal bests.

The next varsity race for the Norse will be the NCAA III Midwest Regional that will be on Saturday, Nov. 16 in Rock Island, Ill.
The Norse will host the Saga Cup on Friday, Nov. 8 at 3:15 p.m.
