Men’s Track and Field set personal bests at Final Qualifier

LA CROSSE, WIS. – Many personal bests were recorded by the Luther Men's Track and Field athletes in multiple events. All of the 1500m runners including Ian Kelly, Lane Schwarz, Adam Koller, and Benjamin Gillikin all broke their times with ease to end the season on a high note.
 
A FITTING END TO THE SEASON
Tancrede Lefort (Golbey, France / St. Joseph) was 13th in the 400m at 52.53 earning a new best time in the event.
 
Cole Peters (Mazeppa, Minn. / Zumbrota-Mazeppa) ran to a 54.11 time in the 400 hurdles finishing third among the field.
 
In the 800m, Leo Duffy (Rockford, Minn. / Rockford) led the Norse runners with a fourth-place finish with a time of 1:54.62 which is a new personal best for the junior. Freshman Logan Thompson (Chatfield, Minn. / Chatfield) was 14th at 1:57.53 which was near the best time he set just days ago at the American Rivers Conference Championship. Sophomore Ike Taylor (Iowa City, Iowa / Iowa City West) and Evan Hansen (St. Paul, Minn. / South St. Paul) were 16th and 17th with times of 1:59.35 and 1:59.59. Taylor set his new best time in the event. Harrison Cota-Prentice (West Des Moines, Iowa / Theodore Roosevelt) rounded out the runners in 26th at 2:09.63.
 
After finishing fourth at the A-R-C Championship and setting the new school record Ian Kelly Littleton, Colo. / Heritage) was first in the 1500m. He also rewrote history again breaking his own top-time at 3:47.68.  Lane Schwarz (Le Suer, Minn. / Le Suer-Henderson) also netted a personal best at 3:54.99 shaving off close to four seconds finishing seventh overall. Adam Koller (Worthington, Minn. / Worthington) and Benjamin Gillikin (Chester, N.J / West Morris Central) also set new best times for 12th and 13th at 3:57.98 and 3:58.63.
 
Kaeden Fellingham (Olathe, Kan. / Olathe South) was 17th in the 5000m with a time of 15:45.15.
 
TOP NORSE
  • Ian Kelly (Littleton, Colo. / Heritage) broke his own top time in school history in back-to-back meets. Now he holds the top time at 3:47.68 after shaving nearly three seconds off his time.
