STORM LAKE, IOWA - Two more Luther Men's track and field records were broken on the track in the final day of competition at the A-R-C Indoor Championship.
Brandon Deas (Colorado Springs, Colo. / Thomas B. Doherty) finished third in the 60-meter dash finals with a new personal best and school record with 6.93. He beat his previous time by two one-hundredths of a second. This is also the fourth time this season that he has broken his own top school record time. He also earned all-conference honors for finishing third in the evnet.
The second record that was shattered by nearly four seconds was the 4x800 team. They finished fourth overall with
Lane Schwarz (Le Suer, Minn. / Le Suer-Henderson),
Leo Duffy (Rockford, Minn. / Rockford),
Ian Kelly (Littleton, Colo. / Heritage) and
Adam Koller (Worthington, Minn. / Worthington) for a time of 7:50.85. The time is now the fastest time ever by a 4x800 relay team in school history. The previous record was 7:54.17 which was set in 2017.
The 4x400 team was sixth with
Tinashe Chisora (Harere, Zimbabwe / UWC-Waterford Kamhlaba),
Leif Carey-Odden (Mount Vernon, Iowa / Mount Vernon),
Evan Hansen (St. Paul, Minn. / South St. Paul) and
Logan Thompson (Chatfield, Minn. / Chatfield) at 3:33.69.
Also earning all-conference honors from the first day of competition was the distance medley relay team which finished third. Luther finished seventh with 20 points.
