Luther College will induct seven alumni into the Luther College Athletic Hall of Fame on Saturday, Oct. 2, honoring former athletes for their achievements in college sports, professional careers and community leadership.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at the Main Hall, Center for Faith and Life at 5:00 p.m. The event is part of Luther College Homecoming weekend.

Inductees are Mark Hillman, track, class of 1986; Erik Bies, track, class of 2006; Jake Nimrod, football/track, class of 2001; Jodi Bofenkamp, swimming, class of 1996; Milt Hendrickson, football/baseball, class of 1996; Christy Palmer, softball, class of 1996; and Kyle McGivney, football, class of 2011.

The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will also include the formal presentations of the 2020 Hall of Fame class and the presentation of the Athletics Meritorious Service Award Recipient to Roger Jaeger. Last year these honorees were recognized virtually due to the cancelation of all Homecoming festivities due to COVID-19.

The 2020 Hall of Fame class includes Jim Helgason, football/baseball, 1970; Jacki Wright, Associate Professor Emerita in Health Promotion and Exercise Science, field hockey/basketball/softball/assistant softball and basketball coach, 1975; Andrea Brinton, volleyball/track, 1996; Ryan LeBeau, wrestling, 2005; Natalie (Retrum) Wyse, cross country/track, 2005; John Jaeger, football/baseball, 2005; and Rich Leake, Professor Emeritus of Management, former head men's tennis coach. A reception for all honorees will precede the ceremony, beginning at 4:00 p.m., at Bentdahl Commons, following the conclusion of the Luther – Nebraska Wesleyan University Homecoming football game that begins at 1:00 p.m. in Carlson Stadium.Â
