Luther, who has already secured at least the No. 2 seed for the American Rivers Conference Tournament, defeated Loras 9-0 in the first game of today's twin bill. The Norse tallied 13 hits and blew the game open scoring six runs in the sixth. The Norse also scored a run in the third, fifth and seventh frames.
Luke Plunkett led the attack driving in three runs going 2-for-5 at the plate.
Peyton Lindmark (2-3),
Cullen Stamp (2-4),
Kyle Schnobrich (2-4) and
Charlie Rubendall (2-4) all had multiple hits. Stamp drove in two runs, while Lindmark,
Kelby Johnson and
Owen Vander Linden all drove in one.Â
Nate Loch was credited with the victory. Loch pitched the first three innings and allowed two hits, walked two and struck out two. Harrison Blum took over the next three innings, did not allow a hit, walked one and struck out one. San Eng threw the final frame and allowed on hit and two walks.
The win gives Luther an A-R-C record of 22-5, 26-9 overall. Loras fell to 15-12 in the A-R-C, 20-13 overall.
