Biography

2024: Blum earned his second straight all-conference first team honors. In 78.1 innings, he made 13 starts on the mound for a 3.91 ERA. He had the best record among the pitchers at 7-3 throwing one complete game. Blum limited opponents to a .207 batting average. With 84 strikeouts this season he set the single season strikeout record replacing Vic Olson's record of 75 in 1967. Over his career he appeared in 46 games and pitched 217.0 innings. Blum held a career ERA of 3.61 tallying 219 strikeouts good for second all-time. 

2023: Named first team all-conference. He was 5-3 on the mound for the Norse in his fourth season. He made 13 appearances that included 12 starts and had one complete game and one save. He worked 72.1 innings, had a 2.12 ERA, and held opponents to a .206 batting average. His 69 strikeouts was is a single season career high.

2022: Made 11 appearances on the mound for the Norse with five starts and posted a 4-2 record. 

2021: Made eight appearances last season that included five starts en route to a 2-2 record. 

2020: He played in three games while starting one and in 10 innings pitched had a 1.80 ERA. 

High School: While at Fridley High School he lettered in both basketball and baseball. He was a Tri-Metro Conference honorable mention all-conference selection in baseball and named academic all-state. 

Personal: Son of Abba and Shannon Blum.
