Luther won game two of today's twin bill by a final of 1-0 over No. 16 Wartburg. Norse starter Sam Thompson pitched a gem. Thompson faced 26 batters and allowed three hits, walked four and struck out four. She ended the game with a 1-6-3 double play.

The lone run of the game was unearned. Emily Versnik started the frame with a walk. Leah Crown pinch ran for Versnik. Morgen Hogenson laid down a sac bunt that advanced Crown to second. Abby Spore singled that advanced Crown to third. Katie Brenna flied out the right field and the throw to home plate was dropped by the Knights catcher. Crown took advantage of the misquie and scored.

The win gives Luther an A-R-C record of 5-5, 16-8 overall. Wartburg fell to 8-3 in league play, 17-4 overall.

Luther will host Buena Vista University this Saturday and Sunday, April 10-11. Saturday's double header will begin at 2:00 p.m. Sunday's final game of this three-game series will begin at 1:00 p.m.
