Box Score Luther defeated Bethany Lutheran 9-1 in six innings and secured today's double header sweep. The Norse had 13 hits and score three times in the third, four times in the fourth and twice in the sixth.

Emily Versnik, Abby Spore, Leah Crown and Kyal Heydt all drove in two runs. Spore ended the game with a two-run blast over the left field fence in the sixth. Hannah Halverson, Versnik, Spore and Heydt all had two hits.

Sam Thompson picked up her first collegiate win in the circle. Thompson allowed one run on three hits and struck out one in four innings of work. Abbey Gapinski allowed two hits, no runs, struck out two and walked one in the final two frames.

The win gives Luther an overall record of 2-0 and increased its win streak to 10 games dating back to last season. Bethany Lutheran fell to 0-4.

Luther returns to action next Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 27- 28. The Norse will face St. Norbert College on the 27th  at 5:00 p.m., and the College of St. Scholastica on the 28th at 4:00 p.m. Both double headers will be played at the Rochester Regional Dome, Rochester, Minn.
