The Luther College baseball team traveled to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for a three-game series against Coe College. The two teams split today's double header with Luther winning game one 5-4 and Coe winning the nightcap 4-3 in 10 innings. Luther remains atop the league standings with a record of 13-5, while Simpson College (10-5) and Coe (11-6) sit in second and third place respectively.
In game one, the Norse scored its five runs on eight hits and did not commit an error.
Jimmy Robbins drove in two runs, while
Ike Swanson,
Noah Kindem and
Xavier Millan all drove in one. Robbins gave the Norse a 4-2 lead in the top of the seventh with a two-run single to left field. Millan hit a solo home run to left field in the eighth in what proved to be the game winner.
Josh Stratton (7-0) pitched six innings and allowed two runs on five hits, walked one and struck out three.
CJ Boudreaux picked up his sixth save of the season, one shy of the single season school record held by
Blake Jondle set in 2024.

It took 10 innings to decided game two. Luther tallied eight hits, while Coe had seven. Both teams committed three errors. The Kohawks Brent Yonkovic led off the 10th with a double to right center field. He advanced to third on a passed ball and scored the game winner on a sac fly to right. The Norse did all of their damage in the first two frames, scoring twice in the first and once in the second.

Hayden Torgerson and Robbins each had one rbi. Robbins hit a solo shot to left field in the second.
