The Luther College baseball team defeated Coe College his afternoon in Cedar Rapids by a final of 13-4. The Nose tallied 11 hits scoring three runs in the third, fourth and sixth frames and two runs in both the fifth and seventh. Luther remains atop the American Rivers Conference standings with a mark of 14-5, 24-9 overall.
Noah Kindem led the the team with three rbi all coming with a three-run home run to left field in the third.
Ike Swanson and
Tyrus Werner both had two rbi, while
Zach Gwost and
Hayden Torgerson were both credited with one. Swanson was 4-for-5 from the lead-off slot in the lineup. Gwost and Werner both had two hits.
Brody Von Berge (5-3) pitched a complete game victory. Von Berge face 38 batters, allowed four runs on eight hits, walked three and struck out nine.
The Norse also set the single season stolen base record with 88 stolen bases this season. The team surpasses the previous record of 87 set in 2019.
