The Luther College baseball team started the American Rivers Conference schedule with an impressive 13-0 (7) road victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Neb. The Norse tallied 12 hits and scored in every inning except the second and sixth frames. The win was the sixth in a row for the Norse who are now 11-4 overall.Â
Gavin Scurr,
Noah Kindem, and
Zach Gwost led the Norse offensive attack. Scurr drove in four runs that included a solo home run in both the fourth and fifth innings. Kindem had three rbi, two off the bat of a two-run home run in the fifth. Gwost also hit a two-run home run in the seventh.
Hayden Torgerson,
Tyrus Werner and
Ryan Truman were all credited with one rbi.Â
Josh Stratton (4-0) threw six scoreless innings en route to the win on the mound. Stratton faced 24 batters, allowed five hits, walked two and struck out nine.Â
Randy Pereyra threw the final inning and gave up one hit.Â
