The Luther College baseball team improved to 10-4 after sweeping a four-game series against Concordia-Moorhead (MN) this past weekend. These games were originally scheduled to be played at Independence High School, Iowa, but were moved to the University of St. Mary's located in Leavenworth, Kansas due to weather conditions.
The Norse posted wins of 6-0, 12-1 on day one, and followed with wins of 7-2 and 19-5 on day two.Â
Game One - The Norse scored six runs on eight hits.
Noah Kindem and
Ryan Truman both had two rbi, while
Ike Swanson and
Gavin Scurr were both credited with one.
Josh Stratton (3-0) allowed no runs on six hits, walked two and struck out seven en route to the win.
Sam Dick was credited with the save throwing three hit less innings.Â
Game Two - Luther blew this one open in the first inning scoring 10 runs.
Xavier Millan led the team with three rbi. Scurr and
Ty Grewal each had two.
Charles Running (1-1) picked up the win allowing one run on one hit. He struck out five and walked four.Â
Game Three - The Norse scored three times in both the first and ninth frames and also scored a run in the seventh. Grewal drove in three runs and
Zach Gwost drove in two. Swanson was also credited with an rbi.
Brody Von Berge (2-1) allowed one run, walked six and struck out eight.
Sam Amundson was credited with the save. He allowed no runs on six hits, walked one and struck out four.Â
Game Four - The bats came alive as the Norse scored 19 runs on 19 hits. Scurr led the team with four rbi. Gwost hit a three-run home run in the third.

Walker Bennett,
Hayden Torgerson and
Tyrus Werner all had two rbi.
Nolan Klocke (2-0) was credited with the win. He allowed four runs on six hits, walked three and struck out seven.
Luther begins American Rivers Conference play on Friday and Saturday, Mar. 20-21. The Norse will travel to Lincoln, Neb., and Nebraska Wesleyan University for a three-game series. Friday's game starts at 6 p.m. and Saturday's twin bill will begin at Noon.
