The University of Dubuque hosted its annual Brown-Terrell Invitational this afternoon. No team scores were kept. The Norse had a good day with seven wrestlers placing led by No. 1 ranked
Clayton McDonough who was crowned the 165 champion. McDonough was 5-0 with four falls and one tech fall. His season record is now 41-0 with 33 falls, two major decisions and three tech falls.
McDonough is also on the verge of setting the school record for single season wins by a senior and the school record for career wins. Two-time All-American at HWT Tom Fye (1989, 1990) holds the senior wins record with 43. Following today's action, McDonough's career mark reads 145-27 with 69 falls. Three-time All-American Jeff Freidhoff (1997-2000) sits atop the list for career wins with a record of 149-53. McDonough's 69 falls is already the career school record.Â
