CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — The Luther men's basketball team lost to Coe 77-70 despite a strong second-half performance of 51 points for the Norse. It was the most points Luther has scored in a half this season.
The Kohawks had a 25-19 advantage at halftime. In the second half, the score was tied four times at 35 (14:49), 37 (14:08), 39 (12:44) and 41 (10:39).
With 6:33 remaining in the contest
Andre Palavra hit a three-point pulling within four (49-53). However, the Kohawks edged the Norse down the stretch with a 24-21 run. Both teams scored over 50 points in the half.
Henry Kreckman recorded his fifth double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds. He also set a new career and season high point total. Palavra also had 15 points followed by
Javier Rowell with 13.
Coe was led by Cooper Nailor with 18 points as they are now 10-5 overall and 2-3 in the American Rivers Conference.
Luther is 5-8 and 0-4 in the A-R-C.
