DECORAH, Iowa - The Luther men's basketball team lost ot Simpson 77-70 in the first game of 2026. The Norse trailed at halftime (31-38) and midway through the second half were down by 14 points (46-60) with 10:26 remaining. Luther cut down the lead in part to an 21-8 run and 3:34 remaining on the clock (67-68). The Storm were able to close out the game shutting down the Norse comeback.
Luther had four scorers in double-digits including
Charlie Wunderlich and
Andre Palavra with 14 points each followed by
Owen Bockenstedt with 11 and
Jeremy Andera with 10. Bockenstedt tallied a double-double with his 11 points and 11 rebounds. The Norse shot 45.9 percent from the floor.
Simpson's top scorer was Cam Henderson with 25 points as they improve to 5-7 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
The Norse fall to 5-7 overall and 0-3 in the American Rivers Conference.
Luther will take on Coe in their next game on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
