Five Norse placed at the 2026 Cliff Keen Mike Duroe Invitational. The tournament had two divisions, Gold and Silver.
In the Gold Division,
Brayden Burmeister (141),
Brian Mitchell (157) and
Griffin Schultz (184) all placed sixth. Burmeister was 3-3 for the day with two falls. Mitchell went 2-3 with a major decision, and Schultz was 3-2 with two falls and a major decision.
In the Silver Division,
Ethan Maldonado was the champion and Evan Eutsey placed third at (157). Maldanado was 3-0 for the afternoon that included a fall and major decision. Eutsey, after losing his second match, ran a string of four in a row wins to finish 5-1 that included a fall and a major decision.
The Norse will return to dual meet competition on Saturday, Jan. 24 when they will travel to Nebraska Wesleyan University for the A-R-C Duals. Luther will face nationally ranked #5 Loras College, #10 Coe College and Nebraska Wesleyan University and Simpson College. The Norse will enter their final duals as a member of the A-R-C with a conference mark of 0-1 and 8-5 overall.
