DECORAH, Iowa - Augsburg spoiled the home opener for the Luther men's soccer team. The Auggies defeated the Norse 2-0 with a goal coming in each half.
Falling behind 1-0 in the 18th minute, Luther would have a penalty kick opportunity after a foul was called on Augsburg in the box in the 31st minute.
Enzo Mitidieri took the kick and although he would have excellent placement the ball hit off the crossbar. The Auggies scored a second goal in the 53rd minute.Â
The Norse and Auggies were about even in shots 10-8.
Francesco Mungari, Mitidieri, and
Ignacio Duenas tallied two shots each.Â
Luther is now 2-1 overall while Augsburg improves to 4-0.Â
